Now, on this weekend I have had a lot of time to think and I came across a few questions that stuck out in my mind. Well... they're not all questions per se... more just thoughts really.
Where did Minute Maid get the balls to start calling Orange Juice "Orangeade"? Seriously, I went to the store to get some supplies and I saw this stuff. I even bought it because it was so ridiculous to me. I drank it and it's not bad at all. But it's just Orange Juice!!!
You ever see/hear/smell/feel something that instantly reminds you of something? Saturday morning I heard a song that just threw me back to last summer. So weird...
Why are there people having loud conversations at 4 am DIRECTLY outside my house? Are terrorists planning to attack my home? Well I say bring it on. I've got a hockey stick and a baseball bat waiting!
Who the hell keeps stealing our Saturday Star newspaper? they're like 2 bucks at the damn convenience store! Jesus tap dancing Christ!
Overall was a relaxing weekend, even got a bunch of homework and work work out of the way.

So last weekend wasn't fun. Not that I expected it would be, burying a grandparent isn't easy. Rest in Peace Dziadzio.
Alas, the short time that seemed to last forever is now over and it's time to get back to life as usual. And honestly this semester looks to be a really fun one. Not in terms of school, but work anyway. We have a really good group with a lot of returning faces on Team Op so I can't wait to see the crazy shenanigans we get into over there. Oh the hilarity that will undoubtedly ensue. I won't even bother mentioning school, because at this point I consider it a complete joke full of irritating people and dumb professors. *** SiDE NoTE - not everyone is irritating and I love all my friends *** But yes, here's to the semester going swimmingly.
I also have come into this habit of thinking very hard on trivial issues, though I think it's for the best because it has provided me with some entertainment, mostly because I rarely get much sleep anymore hahaha. It's funny to think the amount of hours I stay awake at night and think about the why I can't buy cookies by the barrel load or why no one's ever made a hexagon shaped pizza.
And of course, it wouldn't be a proper post with a little mention on love. Honestly, I wish there was anything to say on that but all I got is that I hope things will come together eventually ^_^ because I miss having someone.
Oh, and Bioshock is an awesome game and I will undoubtedly be broke this fall with all the amazing video games coming out :P

Haven't posted in a while. Must mean I've had nothing to complain about.... hehehe....
Didn't know where else to put this though....
My grandfather in Montreal is dying of cancer. Right now he's in the hospital and probably in a lot of pain. What's worse is that it's affecting my family so harshly. My mom is taking it so hard. Can't blame her, it must be difficult to watch a parent go through this. My Dad's been gone most of the week on a flight and as soon as he got back he's headed up to the cottage. My sis is going with him.
It's been so weird around here. I've tried to keep a strong heart in the last few days, more for my mom than anything but it's really taking a toll.
For the first time in my life I've felt fear in my own home. Thank God for my friends at work.
Still, I can't help but feel alone, without anyone.
So yea, I know chances are slim, but I am wishing my grandfather would recover. I'll hope, because it's all I can really do...

Soooooooo, I've been REALLY stressed out these last two days. Why? Well, on Sunday night my computer started acting weird. My CD - Drive was acting really strange. It would disappear and reappear randomly. It had given me problems before but always worked when I needed it to. This time, not so much. On Monday it just died, also, my computer got really slow and refused to shut down automatically, meaning I had to hold the power button down to turn it off. So I decided to format. Unfortunately, to format Windows XP, you need a CD drive. Well mine wasn't working. So I rang up my personal computer technician, Farmer, and was told to try a new CD drive and if that worked then it was simply that the old drive was busted. Well I drove out to Brampton, picked up a new DVD drive that was on sale ($69.99 down from $149.99), and drove back and installed it. That's right, I installed it all by myself. I'm practically a computer technician myself now. Well the new drive worked flawlessly and I was able to get the formatting (with a legit copy of XP Pro no less). And so ends the tale of my PCs problems.
Or so you would think. Once I formatted the hard drive and started up a fresh installation, I checked the hard drive for anything odd. Well what I found was not so much odd as it was infuriating. My 300 Gig hard drive was now a 128 Gig hard drive. I spent about 2 hours frantically scouring the internet for any information on where 170 Gigs of memory might run off to. The results were not good. All I ended up with was a program called Partition Magic which was recommended by Farmer. It didn't do any good. So I figured I'd try again later and started all the windows updates. After a few updates I noticed one update that mentioned something about hard drives. Did I dare to hope? Oh yes I did. I checked the hard drive. It was still 128 Gigs. But then I checked Partition Magic. The hard drive there still said 128 Gigs as well but it also showed 170 Gigs of Unpartitioned space!! My missing space was found!!! (Yes, I'm a big geek, deal with it).
So, now everything is back to normal. My PC is faster than ever and I'm currently sending all my backed up data back to its proper spot on my PC. Quite an adventure. Tally ho and onward! Giant, over-sized sword held high!
lol

So I went out to Caledon today for flight school. My flights got cancelled because of bad weather but I still had my ground school. I had to take my Student Pilot License Exam tonight. Passed with 98% (woot). But this post is not about that. No this post deals with something I was thinking about as I drove home from Caledon.
As I drove southbound back to the city I had my PSP pumping out my favorite tunes. "Run" by Snow Patrol, "Sing me Spanish Techno" by The New Pornographers, "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia, "Renegade" by Styx all came on at some point. It hit me in a not so subtle way that my taste in music is varied. I would say rock is my favorite (though that would have been rap 5 years ago), but truly I am open to all music and I will generally give any song that is recomended to me at least one listen. Which brings me to a pet peeve: people who refuse to give songs a chance. The most recent culprit I can think of would be Dell Rasmussen, who refused to listen to an Avril Lavigne song simply on principle. But others have been guilty. It's just that, regardless of how you THINK a song will be, you just never know until you hear it. So I put this forth - if someone tells you a song is worth hearing, give it a listen, otherwise you are just being ignorant. You can hate the song AFTER you hear it.

Once in a while I'll find a song that just sticks with me. I'm not talking just a catchy song that gets stuck in my head but one that makes me contemplate a vast array of ideas about myself, others, the past, present, and future. This is one of those songs. It was shown to me in the Summer of '06 and I will probably listen to it for the rest of my life because it means so much. I won't explain the song, I will just say it is worth a listen and I ask that you read the lyrics.
"So I Thought"
By: Flyleaf
All your twisted thoughts free flow
To everlasting memories
Show soul
Kiss the stars with me
And dread the wait for
Stupid calls returning us to life
We say to those who are in love
It can't be true 'cause we're too young
I know that's true because
so long I was
So in love with you
So I thought
A year goes by
And I can't talk about it
On my knees
Dim lighted room
Thoughts free flow try to consume
Myself in this
I'm not faithless
Just paranoid of getting lost or that I might lose
Ignorance is bliss cherish it
Pretty neighborhoods
You learn to much to hold
Believe it not
And fight the tears
With pretty smiles and lies
About the times
A year goes by
And I can't talk about it
The times weren't right
And I couldn't talk about it
Chorus Romance says goodnight
Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Remember you, remember me
Hurt the first, the last, between
Chorus Romance says goodnight
Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Remember you, remember me
Hurt the first, the last, between
And I'm praying that we will see
Something there in between
Then and there that exceeds all we can dream
So we can talk about it
[guitar solo]
Chorus Romance says goodnight
Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Remember you, remember me
Hurt the first, the last, between
Chorus Romance says goodnight
Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Remember you, remember me
Hurt the first, the last, healing
And I'm praying that we will see
Something there in between
Then and there that exceeds all we can dream
And all these twisted thoughts I see
Jesus there in between
And all these twisted thoughts I see
Jesus there in between

So I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End earlier today. It was really the only movie in the series that I was actually excited to see and it was worth the anticipation. Though the film tends to drag on at times, it was definitely worth the $6 admission (damn Rainbow Theatres raising their prices!). I found the movie did a few things for me. Mainly, it added a helluva lot of points to the "Pirates are cooler than ninjas" argument. And since I have been on the fence on that one.... I'll just stop now before I over-dorkulate. The movie also got my jaw dropped a couple times just because of the sheer absurdity of a scene. I won't say any spoilers but... damn that upside down boat scene? Ridiculous. As always Johnny Depp was awsome as Jack Sparrow, though he wasn't as funny as in the last movie. Keira Knightly... well I'll never be able to watch a movie with her again without being reminded of other stuff, but she's still a great actress.
It's worth noting that you should stay till all the credits are done to see the real ending... even if the creditis take like ten years....
Yo ho ho, it's a pirates life for me ^_^;
